How To Interpret FCM data
We provide rankings of all registered FCMs based on reports received from the CFTC (U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.) Overall rankings and sub-category rankings are provided based on Adjusted Net Capital and Excess Net Capital.
B/D column: This shows whether a particular FCM is registerd with the Securites and Exchange Commission as a securities broker or dealer. A "Y" means the FCM is also registered as a B/D with the SEC.
DSRO column: This identifies the FCMs Designated Self-Regulatory Organization.
Adjusted Net Capital: This is the amount of regulatory capital available to meet the FCMs minimum net capital requirement.
Excess Net Capital: This is the amount by which the adjusted net capital exceeds the net capital requirement. We consider this one of the more important pieces of data.
